The short version: your intentions live on your own device. Nothing about them reaches us unless you switch on Backup yourself, and we never ask for your name.

Who is responsible

The Garden of Mind is operated by Toshi Labs, Rue Musin 1, Brussels, Belgium. Company number 1026272272, VAT BE 1026272272, www.toshilabs.be. You can reach us at hello@toshilabs.be for anything on this page.

What we hold, and why

Your intentions and their watering history Stored in your browser, on your device. They are only copied to our database if you turn on Backup to the cloud in the menu — that switch is off by default. Turning it back off deletes the copy.
An anonymous account A random identifier created automatically so a backup or a purchase can be tied to your garden. No name, no e-mail, no profile.
Your e-mail address Only if you ask for the daily reminder, or if you buy Founders access. Used for that reminder, to restore your purchase if you lose your browser, and for nothing else. We do not sell or share it, and every reminder carries a one-click unsubscribe.
Payment details Handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
Usage statistics Aggregated, cookieless page and event counts via Vercel Analytics — how many people planted a seed, not who. This is why the site has no cookie banner: we set no tracking cookies.

A note on what you write

Intentions are personal. People write about their health, their money and their relationships, and under the GDPR some of that counts as a special category of data. That is exactly why cloud backup is off unless you choose it: switching it on is your explicit consent to store those words with us, and you can withdraw it at any moment by switching it off, which erases the copy.

Legal grounds

Who processes data for us

How long we keep it

Backups and reminder subscriptions are kept until you remove them — switch off Backup, unsubscribe, or mail us and we delete everything tied to your account. Purchase records are kept for as long as accounting law requires.

Your rights

You can access, correct, export, restrict or erase your data, and object to its processing. Two of these you can exercise immediately without asking anyone: Export garden in the menu gives you a full copy as a file, and switching Backup off erases the cloud copy. For anything else, mail hello@toshilabs.be and we will act within 30 days. If you are unhappy with how we respond, you may lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be).
